App and Web Design
About
Dining out should be a fun experience, but 29 million Americans are afflicted with foodborne illness yearly, while 60,000 severe reactions to food allergies occur in restaurants. SafeEats is a self-initiated idea for a groundbreaking food review app putting control back in consumers' hands, enabling them to make safe and informed dining choices. Coupled with custom filters, AI-driven insights into safety, and curated user and expert content, SafeEats is letting people "eat out without fear."

Problem
Consumers lack transparency about food safety and allergen control when eating out. Review platforms available today primarily focus on taste and ambiance, hence marginalizing health-related issues, which leaves diners with dietary restrictions or allergies, or those with safety priority elements unaddressed. This gap translates into concrete consequences, which include incidents of food-borne illnesses, allergic reactions, and a notable absence of accountability within the restaurant sector.
Process
Interviewed New Yorkers, since the app and website would launch in the city during beta. Researched across databases and created presentations weekly that were met with class feedback. Conducted extensive research for each aspect of branding and marketing.
Product
This project included the design of a user-friendly application that offers custom Filters for dietary needs (e.g., gluten-free, vegan). It highlights recent Articles & News Links powered by AI to track restaurant safety records, as well as user and FDA reviews are used to ensure complete and accurate information.
I created nine pitch decks throughout the semester, presenting in-depth market research for market analysis, customer validation, branding, MVP, a roadmap, unit economics and sales, operational budgeting, and case studies on exemplary businesses.
